O come all you brave heroes I pray lend an ear And a comical ditty you are about to hear It's of a grand wedding I state for a fact It happened last Tuesday in Kishimaquac. All Napan's been ransacked of cowhides and skins Sleighs and sleigh harness and other fine things Buffalo coats being borrowed themselves to protect They proceed on their journey to Kishimaquac They drove off in great splendor, so we've been told One of those damsels complained of the cold but a good cup of hot stuff soon brought her smiles back And she quickly recovered in Kishimaquac O the bride she came out she was all dressed in silk Her cheeks were like roses her skin white as milk Her teeth like ivory so finely were set And they called her the primrose of Kishimaquac There was roast veal and mutton and the best of roast beef, From an ox that had died for the want of it's teeth Codfish and taters fried up in hog's fat Which is common for supper in Kishimaquac The wine it was served up in dippers and bowls Old Roberston said "make merry your souls, So it's eat while your'e able and drink till you crack For there's lots of provision in Kishimaquac Oh the supper being over they asked for a song Fowlie and Edgar they both sang a hymn And the Squire James Colter sang of the ship's wreck Which accompanied this company at Kishimaquac

about

Mike has teamed up with Alan Jeffries and Ray Legere to record a third volume of Traditional Miramichi and New Brunswick Folk Songs. Featuring 12 tracks that reflect the humour and tragedy of our pioneering people. This acoustic album is very pure and smooth. and will remind you of Jerry Garcia and David Grisom folk albums. Joining Mike vocally on one track is Julie Robinson whose voice blends perfectly with Mike's. This album was made possible through a grant from MNB's MID program and the province of New Brunswick
